“BUKAN SEKADAR MENCARI UANG” STUDI FENOMENOLOGI TENTANG MAKNA BEKERJA PADA PENGUSAHA WANITA DI BANTUL YOGYAKARTA

Women used to be identified with housework, now they can contribute to the business world and the family economy. Business become one of fields that be women’s choice as a place to prove one’s potential. This research includes field research which is qualitative descriptive that uses phenomenological approach. The purpose of this research is to know how women entrepreneurs interpret their job as entrepreneurs. Besides that, to find out the factors that encourage women entrepreneurs to start their businesses. The informants are three women that has criteria include having a business of at least one year, being married and managing food, transportation and service businesses. Sampling in this research uses purposive sampling technique. Data collection in this research uses semi structured interviews and non-participant observation. Methods of data analysis in this research uses data analysis. The results show that the meaning of work for women who have businesses include: 1) work as a calling and they don’t think about profit, 2) use spare time as housewife, 3) wants to make their parents happy, 4) gratitude in living life and being grateful what is given. In this research, it shows that spirituality is gratitude form informants in feeling the meaning of work so that it creates satisfaction with life. The factors that encourage women entrepreneurs to start their businesses include: 1) want to learn to manage emotions, 2) apply the knowledge gained, 3) want to open job vacancies for people around them
